The Grand Opening

Tuesday night at approximately 6:09 PM, Salt City Burger Company...SCBC...opened, at last!  And look how happy my parents look, they hide the stress so well...just kidding just kidding.  But the opening was great, not too crazy but not too slow.  And may I add the Smoke House Bacon Burger was a hit!  If you haven't yet tried it I suggest you do, it will change your life, and that's the truth.  So here are a couple pics of us taking down the "Opening Soon" signs...I hope you enjoy...

Oh it was epic...

Well...it would have been if we would have been able to get the darn thing down...how embarrassing ha ha.

Crash

Not cool, not cool at all.  So this last Monday as I drove home on Wasatch Blvd. coming up to 45th So., I was a total idiot and rear ended a truck in front of me.  Poor Maddie, who I had just picked up from a friend's house was with me and a little shook-en up from the whole ordeal...as was I.  All i remember was seeing the light turn green and then my head hit the steering wheel.  Not too fun.  But at least we were both safe along with the guy in front of us...so that was good.  But unfortunately my car is now in the shop for three weeks, but like i said, at least we were all safe.

Grizbee...the greatest thing ever

Go Grizzlies!  Last night we all enjoyed a wonderful hockey game full of excitement, loud noises, fights--my personal favorite, and people watching--also a personal favorite.  In the beginning stages of the game we were down by three, but then the Grizzlies turned it up a bit and after a couple fights ...remained down by three till the 3rd period were they took it to 5-6...and lost.  At least the fans were energetic throughout the entire game though...with random out cries of "Murray!  You suck!"  Oh and let's not forget the little boy with the giant snow cone the size of his head...maybe bigger, priceless.  What a great place to watch people act completely irrational haaa.  But I must say, I am sold.  I myself soon may become a die hard Grizzlies fan, it's just a matter of time after an experience such as that.

Marshmallow Extravaganza

The other day we had yet another test run at Salt City Burger Co. which went pretty well.  We just experimented with some sweet potato fries and the malt shake glasses...mmmmm.  Things are all starting to come together.  Afterwards, Isaac and I went to the store and got marshmallows and toothpicks and went to Lauren's where Matt, Isaac, Lauren and I made various creations.  What was once a turtle/bridge/pirate ship/Hogwarts:School of Witchcraft & Wizardry ended up in shambles and almost in Isaac's mouth...what a mean Isaac.  We then played the Crocodile Hunter board game...who ever thought the most simple game ever could be so intense...well it was.  After we thought we'd learn a bit about break dancing and watched Step Up 2, it was indeed life changing.

Happy Halloween!

Bugs, pirates, Edward Scissor Hands, a Muslim, the Green Lantern, Hermione Granger, and an English man...oh my.  Could it get any better?  I submit it cannot.  Anyways, so for Halloween we all got together at Lauren's house and then headed off to the Sky Box party...woop woop!  It involved dancing, games, eating, drinking and much more.  Afterwards, we all went to Matt's house and watched The Ring...not cool, it was actually kind of crazy though because just as phone rang on the movie my phone rang...yup also not cool, but it was a lot of fun.  Halloween is such a great holiday...absolutely wonderful.  Poor Gracie though, just as she was about to go tick or treating she spewed :( so so sad, she was so excited to go, but luckily Emily took around an extra bag while trick or treating for Gracie so she wouldn't miss out completely, what a little angel.

If I could be great at anything...

Ok talk about big wave surfing, right?!  Anyways, earlier this week someone asked me if I could be good at anything what would it be...well I chose surfing, and i definitely stick to that decision.  Not only would you be super hard core as a surfer, but you'd also be at one with the waves...and that is neat.  Oh what I would give to be a professional surfer...

...with my by myself...

Ok so SNL had the funniest sketch with Ann Hathaway and everyone should watch it.  I have watched it numerous times and it's still hilarious...so here's the link...

Oh and don't mind the beginning...it's just one of those lame advertisements

Fall Colors

So today was the Utah vs. Colorado game...and to say the least, we totally killed em'!  Go UTES!  It was a real hot day at the game, I swear it could've been summer.  Oh and let's not forget our wonderful friends who sat behind us...he he, ya not cool at all!  I really think Alyson was close to killing them.  But anyways, after the game, as I drove home I noticed the vibrant colors, I just absolutely love fall time.  So incredibly wonderful, right?!

10 Good Reasons to Vote...

  1.  When you are registered to vote, your complaints are taken more seriously
  2.  If you disagree with a friend or family member politically, vote to counter their vote
  3.  Your vote is more significant in local elections, such as city council and state legislature        election, because the number of eligible voters is smaller
  4. Communities with a higher number of registered voters get more attention from politicians
  5. Many men and women over the years have sacrificed their lives and put forth a great effort in pursuit of greater opportunities and freedoms, the least YOU can do is register and/or vote
  6. It's your right!  Voting is the cornerstone of democracy.  The power and responsibility of governing lies upon every citizen.  Your vote is your power
  7. You represent a combination of interests unique to only you.  When you register to vote, you become part of multiple networks that share your concerns and interests
  8. In 2006 only 36.1% of the 13,021,986 eligible voters in New York voted, meaning that a U.S. Senator can be elected with less than 20% of the eligible vote...tisk tisk tisk
  9. During the 2005 Iraqi elections, when insurgents said they were going to bathe the streets in blood, over 70% of the population voted.  In the U.S., only 41.3% of eligible voters in 2006 went to the polls...again tisk tisk tisk
  10. To keep tuition from rising!  Politicians want to be reelected....so of course they are going to represent the people who are registered to vote.  If college students are not registered to vote politicians will feel no responsibility to help them out.  It's actually quite simple, right?  Right.

So go out and vote, it is so incredibly important!  And all of you "Debbie Downers" and "Pessimistic  Patties" out there who don't think your vote will make a difference...well...it DOES!
